Attio
Data-driven CRM for modern, relationship-focused teams
What it does
Attio is a next-gen CRM that treats a CRM more like Airtable-for-relationships than like Salesforce. Everything is a customizable object with typed attributes, records auto-enrich from LinkedIn and company data, email + calendar sync builds a contact graph without manual entry, and workflows/automations run natively. Popular in the venture, B2B SaaS, and modern startup world because it feels current: fast UI, dark mode, keyboard-first, well-designed. Deep-linked with tools startups actually use (Slack, Linear, Notion, Vercel, GitHub, Loom). Recently added "Ask Attio" (natural language querying) and heavy AI features.

Key features
Integrates with
Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Zapier, Linear
Who this fits
- B2B SaaS startups and scaleups (2-100) where the team is technical and design-sensitive
- VC firms, accelerators, and investor networks tracking portfolio + deals
- Agencies and consultancies with modern tooling stacks
- Sales teams that want customizable objects without paying Salesforce ($150+/user)
- Teams migrating off Airtable-as-a-CRM to something purpose-built
Who it does NOT fit
- Trades, medspa, real estate solo agents (overpriced and not the right shape — LACRM, Copper, HubSpot Free fit better)
- Marketing-automation-led revenue teams (HubSpot, ActiveCampaign)
- Ecommerce teams (Klaviyo)
- Enterprises needing complex sales operations, territory management, forecasting depth (Salesforce)
- Anyone who wants "install and use" — Attio rewards teams willing to customize
Pricing
Real gotchas
- July 2026 price increase not yet reflected in most third-party listings. Any comparison sheet quoting Plus at $29 and Pro at $69 is describing the OLD pricing (Source: MarketBetter: https://marketbetter.ai/blog/attio-crm-pricing-breakdown-2026/)
- Hybrid seat + usage pricing means the seat cost is not the full bill. AI enrichment, "Ask Attio" queries, and workflow runs draw from credit pools that refill monthly. Heavy enrichment or automation use adds real cost
- Plus caps at 10 seats. Team growing past 10 must jump to Pro (2.3x price per seat)
- Free tier is 3 seats — real evaluation but not viable for a working team
- Custom objects on Pro are powerful but require design work; Free/Plus have simpler contact/company/deal defaults
- Migrations from HubSpot/Salesforce require the export/import dance; no one-click migration for complex custom-property setups
- Some legacy CRM features (call recording, dialer, deep sales-team-management) are less mature than the incumbents

Otto’s take on this tool
Recommend Attio when: modern B2B SaaS or VC/investor use case, business_size is 2-100, team is technical and design-sensitive, and pain is "Salesforce is too much, HubSpot feels dated." Highest fit for B2B SaaS startups, VC/accelerator networks, and modern agencies. Do NOT recommend for trades, real estate, medspa, ecommerce-only, or enterprises. If comparing to HubSpot: HubSpot wins on marketing automation and ecosystem breadth; Attio wins on modern UX, customizable objects, and AI-native features. If comparing to Salesforce: Salesforce wins on ecosystem depth; Attio wins on price and speed. Always flag the July 2026 price bump and the credit-based usage layer — the seat cost is not the whole bill.
