Close

CRM built for inside sales with built-in calling and email

What it does

Close is an inside-sales CRM that bundles the dialer, SMS, and email sequences directly into the pipeline view. You see a list of prospects, click one, call them, log it, send a follow-up email, all without leaving the same screen. Other CRMs treat calling and emailing as bolted-on. Close treats them as the core workflow.

Integrates with

Zapier, Slack, Gmail, Zoom, HubSpot

Who this fits

  • 2 to 30-person sales teams who spend their day on outbound calls and email follow-up
  • B2B SaaS sales teams (small to mid-market)
  • Real estate teams who run their day in dialer cadence (FSBO, expired listings, sphere of influence)
  • Insurance, financial services, consulting agencies with active outbound motion
  • Trades businesses (HVAC, plumbing) doing high-touch quote follow-up via phone
  • Founders running sales themselves and tired of duct-taping Pipedrive + Aircall + Mailshake

Who it does NOT fit

  • Solo founders who don't yet do outbound (Close is overkill for inbound-only)
  • E-commerce teams (Close has no native Shopify integration; use Klaviyo + simple ticketing instead)
  • Marketing-led teams where the CRM is mostly for tracking inbound demo requests (HubSpot's free tier wins this slot)
  • Teams that want their CRM to also do marketing automation, customer support, and project management (Close stays narrow on purpose)
  • Enterprise-stage teams that need SSO, audit logs, complex permissions (Close exists below this tier)

Pricing

- **No free tier.** 14-day trial, no credit card. - **Startup** plan: $19/user/month. Limit 3 users. Best for solo founders or 2-3 person teams testing the workflow. - **Professional** plan: $49/user/month (annual). Unlimited users. Reporting, custom fields. Where most growing teams land. - **Enterprise** plan: $89/user/month (annual). Workflow automation, predictive dialer, custom roles. - Realistic for a 10-person team: ~$490/mo on Professional.

Real gotchas

  • **You grow past 50 sales reps**: Close's Enterprise plan handles up to ~100 users well, but for true enterprise (SSO, RBAC, complex hierarchies, sales engineering teams), Salesforce or HubSpot Sales Hub Enterprise are stronger.
  • **Your motion shifts to marketing-led inbound**: Close's strengths become irrelevant; HubSpot wins.
  • **You add a customer success or support function**: Close doesn't do CS. You'll need a second tool. At that point evaluate whether a single platform (HubSpot Service + Sales) is simpler than Close + Zendesk + Intercom.

Integrations that matter

- **Gmail / Google Workspace** — native sync. Emails sent inside Close show in Gmail Sent, and vice versa. Critical. - **Calendly / Cal.com** — auto-create leads from booked calls. - **Zapier + Make** — for non-native integrations. - **HubSpot import** — easy migration from HubSpot (one-time). - **Stripe** — pulls customer data, won-deal automation. - Close has no native Shopify, no native QuickBooks. If you need either, factor in Zapier glue.

Otto’s take on this tool

> Example: "Your 4-person consulting practice mentioned losing 5 hours a week chasing landscaping clients on quote follow-up. Close's built-in dialer plus email sequences means your team can run 25-30 follow-ups in an hour from one tab. The Startup plan at $19/user keeps the team's first month under $80 and you can move to Professional once you outgrow the 3-user cap. Native Gmail sync means it slots into the workflow you said you already have."

Editor's curated reviews

52 reviews across TrustPilot - avg 4.3/5

Curated by Otto from TrustPilot public reviews (fetched 2026-08-31). Close's TrustPilot is strong (77% 5-star of 52 total) - praise centers on the built-in dialer and clean sales UX; critical reviews focus on outages/lag. G2 and Capterra were consulted for aggregate context but not directly cited here. Not user-submitted on Ottomately.

  • Most comprehensive and innovative CRM I've ever tried. The Close team is very open to new feature ideas.
  • Best CRM I've used for sales, hands down...nothing else comes close. The Predictive Dialer alone has transformed how many calls I can get through.
  • I've used Close for over 5 months now and it's been a great way for us to transition to a more streamlined way.
  • Close has made CRM architecture, RevOps, and overall usage a dream. No consultants or expensive admins needed.
  • The initial setup was super easy, and the email integration was fast and seamless. Kudos to the support team.
  • Systems regularly going down. The search facility is terrible. Frequently laggy. In a day when you can build with AI, consider building your own.
