CrankWheel
Screen sharing tool built for sales calls: no download for the prospect, just click a link
What it does
CrankWheel is a no-download screen-sharing tool built specifically for phone-based inside sales. You are on a call with a prospect, you send them a link, they click it, they see your screen in their browser. No app install, no Zoom account, no "can you hear me now" for 90 seconds. That is the whole product, and for phone-first sales teams that friction elimination converts. Now includes an Instant Demos widget (prospect requests a live demo from the site, rings a rep, screen share starts).

Key features
Integrates with
Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zapier
Who this fits
- Insurance, real estate, trades, and financial services sales reps who sell over the phone
- Solo consultants doing 20-minute demos with strangers
- 2 to 30 person inside-sales teams calling SMB prospects
- Field-service quote calls where the prospect needs to see a photo, a floorplan, or a spec sheet mid-call
- Any team where the current pain is "prospects will not install Zoom for a 5-minute walkthrough"
Who it does NOT fit
- Video-heavy sales orgs where face-to-face on camera matters (Zoom or Google Meet wins)
- Enterprise sales with scheduled demos on calendar (the friction elimination is not the pain point)
- Teams needing recording, transcript, and pipeline CRM sync as first-class features
- Distributed team internal meetings (this is a one-way screen-share, not a collaboration tool)
- Anyone doing webinars (use Zoom Webinar or Livestorm)

Real gotchas
- Non-obvious gotcha: CrankWheel is intentionally one-way (rep shares screen to prospect, prospect cannot share back). This is the design (frictionless for the prospect), but reps switching from Zoom often try to run collaborative demos and hit a wall. Frame it correctly: this is a walkthrough tool for the rep, not a two-way meeting. If you need the prospect to share their screen back, CrankWheel is the wrong tool.
- Video and audio for the CALL happen separately (usually the actual phone call); CrankWheel is the visual layer only
- Free tier's 3-viewer cap is fine for 1-on-1 sales calls, useless for small-group demos
- The Team plan's 100 shared meetings across the team can hit its cap fast for active outbound orgs; the metric to watch is per-team-total, not per-user
- Chrome-extension based; Safari and Firefox users lose a lot of ergonomics

Otto’s take on this tool
Recommend CrankWheel when: business_size is 1 to 30, industry is real estate or trades or insurance or consulting, current sales motion is phone-first (not scheduled Zoom demos), and pain_points include "prospects will not install Zoom" or "demo pickup rate is low." Do NOT recommend for video-first sales, enterprise scheduled-demo motions, or internal collaboration. If comparing to Zoom, CrankWheel wins on prospect friction (link-only, no install); Zoom wins on everything else.
