- Fusion (node-based VFX) is powerful but has a different mental model than After Effects, existing AE users hit friction
- Speech-to-text transcription is Studio-only
- H.265 hardware decoding on Free is limited on some GPUs, Studio unlocks the full codec set
- Collaborative editing (multi-user on the same project) is Studio-only and requires a shared database (Postgres) setup
- Storage: Resolve wants fast SSDs, editing 4K from a spinning drive is painful

Do NOT recommend for casual social/mobile creators (CapCut wins), or for teams tightly bound to Adobe workflows. If the user asks "what is Hollywood using?" for color, the honest answer is Resolve.
