Kartra

All-in-one marketing platform for course creators and membership sites

What it does

Kartra is an all-in-one marketing platform aimed at course creators and membership site owners, page builder, email marketing, membership hosting, calendars, a helpdesk, and video hosting bundled together. It's positioned as more full-featured than Systeme.io and cheaper than piecing together separate best-in-class tools, but it carries a real reputation for buggy execution.

Who this fits

  • Course creators and coaches who want membership sites + email + checkout in one platform and have budget above the Systeme.io tier
  • Info-product businesses running webinar funnels who want calendars and helpdesk bundled in rather than separate subscriptions

Who it does NOT fit

  • Anyone risk-averse about platform reliability, this is the single most repeated criticism across review sites, users specifically call it "one of the most buggy software platforms" with constant logouts and a malfunctioning page builder (Source: user reviews via WebSearch summary, 2026)
  • Businesses needing dependable, fast support during a launch, response times run 1-2 days and answers are often generic (cache-clearing suggestions) rather than resolving root issues (Source: user reviews via WebSearch summary, 2026)
  • Non-technical solo operators without a developer on call, documentation is reportedly outdated and users say a strong full-stack developer is genuinely useful for fixing issues
  • Budget-tight solo creators, Kartra starts meaningfully higher than Systeme.io for comparable functionality

Pricing

Per tools.json: Starter $99/mo (2,500 leads, 1 domain), Growth $189/mo (12,500 leads, 3 domains), Professional $429/mo (25,000 leads, 5 domains). Confirm current numbers at kartra.com/pricing, Kartra has restructured tiers before.

Real gotchas

  • Reported bugs include customer emails getting blacklisted after purchase and random password issues on the membership area, both can directly break a live launch (Source: user reviews via WebSearch summary, 2026)
  • Order pages not processing correctly is a repeated complaint, this is a checkout-critical failure mode, worth stress-testing before pointing paid traffic at a Kartra funnel
  • Technical documentation is reportedly outdated, making self-service troubleshooting harder than it should be
  • Support quality is described as friendly but often unable to resolve anything beyond generic issues, don't count on support to bail out a time-sensitive launch problem

Integrations that matter

Stripe, PayPal, Zapier, Plaid.

Otto’s take on this tool

Recommend Kartra cautiously, only when the user specifically wants more built-in functionality (membership + helpdesk + calendars) than Systeme.io offers and has budget for the higher tiers. Always flag the reliability concerns explicitly before recommending, especially if the user is planning a live launch or webinar funnel where checkout failures would be costly. If reliability is a stated concern or the budget is tight, Systeme.io or Kajabi are safer recommendations.

Editor's curated reviews

128 reviews across TrustPilot - avg 3.4/5

Curated by Otto from TrustPilot public reviews (fetched 2026-08-31). Kartra's TrustPilot is bimodal (128 reviews, 49% 5-star and 21% 1-star) - the tool works well for people who lean into the all-in-one approach but bugs, price hikes, and slow support come up repeatedly on the negative side. G2 and Capterra were consulted for aggregate context but not directly cited here (source-access limits). Not user-submitted on Ottomately.

  • Kartra is the best platform I've used for my business. I've used ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign, but they never offered everything I needed into one platform.
  • Everything runs smooth with Kartra and I have incredible support with Danielle Doucette.
  • Everything being integrated is great, I'm able to do most everything I want. Email deliverability has been pretty solid too.
  • I am still learning. A lot of the parts are not very intuitive for me. I have to ask for help frequently.
  • Good software, price keeps going up, tech support is slow.
  • This is one of the most buggy and low-quality softwares. Constant logouts, a malfunctioning page builder, endless glitches.
  • Leaving as soon as I can. Support can take up to a week to answer even simple questions.
