Productivity - Setup Guide
How to set up Spiky.ai
Otto's honest, no-fluff walkthrough. Every step here is what we'd actually do if we were sitting at your keyboard. Real gotchas first, real steps second, and a link to the personalized version at the bottom.
What you're signing up for
Easy to Medium. Calendar integration and CRM sync is a day. Real coaching value takes 4-6 weeks of call volume to identify patterns. Setting up custom scorecards for your team's playbook adds another
Read these before you start
- Consent and recording notification laws vary by state. Two-party consent states (CA, FL, MA, etc.) require disclosure
- Coaching only works if the manager actually reviews the flagged clips. Tool doesn't fix a coaching culture problem
- Auto-generated action items are useful but need human review before pushing to CRM
- Speaker separation on Zoom/Meet is decent, on some VoIP platforms is noisy
- Sentiment analysis is directional, not precise. Don't over-index
- Some CRM sync depth requires higher tiers
The 7-step setup
- 1
Create your Spiky.ai account
Sign up at the link below. Card required for the paid tier - most plans include a trial period; check the pricing section on this page first so you know what you're committing to.
Open Spiky.ai signup - 2
Complete the initial onboarding
Skip the marketing questionnaires when you can. Fill only the fields that actually configure the product - name, timezone, your first workspace or project. If Spiky.ai pushes you into a setup wizard, take it - it usually accelerates the first productive session.
- 3
Connect your existing tools
Wire Spiky.ai into the rest of your stack. The integrations that most people set up first: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Slack, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Chrome extension, native REST API.. Do these before importing data - clean integration first, data second.
- 4
Import your existing data (only what you'll actually use)
Do NOT bulk-import everything. Import the last 30 days of the ONE workflow you're moving over first. Prove it works. Then import more. Big-bang migrations are how Spiky.ai deployments die in month 3.
- 5
Set up your first real workflow
Pick the single most-frequent task you'll do in Spiky.ai - the daily-driver workflow. Configure it end-to-end. Use it live for a week. Do not touch any other feature yet. Adoption failure comes from teams trying to use everything on day one instead of the one thing that actually pays.
- 6
Add your team (if applicable) and set access
Once your solo workflow works, invite one teammate at a time. Watch them use it. The friction points you missed are the ones they hit. Fix those before scaling to more users. Never invite 20 people at once - you'll get 20 confused people and 0 useful feedback.
- 7
Compound with the right pairings
Recommend Spiky when: sales team is 5-50 reps, sales cycle is consultative/discovery-heavy (B2B, agency, consulting), pain_point is "I don't know why my new reps aren't closing" or "our call coaching is inconsistent," and Gong is out of budget. Pairs with HubSpot/Salesforce, Zoom, and a proper CRM enablement stack. Do NOT recommend for solo operators (Fathom is free and enough), enterprise already on Gong/Chorus, or transactional call centers. The coaching-focused positioning is the real differe...
Pricing you'll hit
- Individual/Starter tiers: ~$20-40/user/mo, transcription, summaries, basic coaching insights - Team tiers: ~$50-100/user/mo, advanced analytics, coaching dashboards, CRM sync - Enterprise: quote, SSO, custom, dedicated success Verify per-user pricing and whether call minutes are metered. Some tiers cap recording hours per user.
