Folk CRM

AI-powered CRM for relationship-driven teams

What it does

Folk is a relationship-first CRM built for people whose job is networking and pipeline management through personal relationships, recruiters, VCs, small agencies, and anyone who lives in LinkedIn and their inbox. Its standout feature is a Chrome extension that pulls contact data straight off LinkedIn profiles into your CRM, plus AI-based contact enrichment and mail merge for outreach sequences. It's built to feel like a smart spreadsheet, not enterprise software.

Integrates with

Gmail, LinkedIn, Slack, Zapier, Make

Who this fits

  • Recruiters and headhunters managing candidate/client relationships
  • Small VC funds and angel investors tracking deal flow through personal networks
  • Small agencies and consultants doing relationship-based business development
  • Anyone whose "CRM" today is actually LinkedIn + a spreadsheet + their memory

Who it does NOT fit

  • Field teams or anyone needing a mobile app for on-site work, Folk has no mobile app, a real gap for teams working from client sites (Source: Folk CRM review, via WebSearch summary 2026)
  • Teams needing workflow automation that triggers on pipeline stage changes, this isn't built in and Zapier workarounds reportedly add cost and break frequently (Source: Folk CRM review, via WebSearch summary 2026)
  • Teams doing high-volume outbound prospecting, enrichment credits are capped per month across the whole team (500 on Standard, 1,000 on Premium) and active prospecting burns through them fast
  • Anyone needing serious forecasting or structured pipeline reporting, Folk stays lightweight here on purpose

Pricing

Per tools.json: Free tier (200 contacts), Standard ~$20/user/month (unlimited contacts, email sequences), Premium ~$40/user/month (AI enrichment, advanced analytics). Confirm current numbers at folk.app/pricing.

Real gotchas

  • No mobile app at all, a genuine problem for recruiters or field-based relationship managers who need to log activity between meetings, not just at a desk (Source: Folk CRM customer review, via WebSearch summary 2026)
  • No native workflow automation, teams that grow past a few people usually need sequences that trigger on pipeline stage and have to bolt on Zapier, which adds cost and reportedly breaks
  • Contact enrichment credits are shared team-wide and capped monthly, active outbound teams hit the ceiling faster than they expect
  • Duplicate detection only catches exact first+last name matches, not same-email-different-name contacts, dedup discipline still falls on the user
  • Reporting/forecasting depth is noticeably lighter than a traditional sales CRM, fine for relationship tracking, not built for sales-ops rigor

Integrations that matter

Gmail, LinkedIn (Chrome extension), Slack, Zapier, Make.

Otto’s take on this tool

Recommend Folk when the user's business is fundamentally relationship-driven (recruiting, small agency BD, small fund deal flow) and they're currently managing contacts through LinkedIn + spreadsheets with no real CRM. Do not recommend to field teams needing mobile access, or to anyone whose stated pain is "we need automation" or "we do high-volume outbound," Close or Pipedrive fit those needs better.

Editor's curated reviews

20 reviews across TrustPilot - avg 4.1/5

Curated by Otto from TrustPilot public reviews (fetched 2026-08-31). Folk CRM averages 4.1 across 20 reviews (70% 5-star, 15% 2-star) - praise for simplicity/browser extension; critical reviews cite missing duplicate detection and slow onboarding response. G2 and Capterra were consulted for aggregate context but not directly cited here. Not user-submitted on Ottomately.

  • This is a great, intuitive CRM. My favourite feature is that the entry level plan syncs all my emails per contact.
  • Super intuitive, lightweight CRM with a fast browser extension to add people on the fly.
  • Simplicity is a massive asset. The team at Folk have stripped away all the bloat that bogs down most CRMs.
  • As a solo entrepreneur, this has changed my life and my business forever...made my annual subscription back in the first month.
  • Unfortunately the Folk CRM doesn't identify when two contacts have the same email address and flag them as duplicates.
  • Zero communication from Folk about how to adopt our data...we haven't gotten back us (it's been a month).
